Wow! It’s been a fast and furious 2 weeks! I want to thank all the people that turned out to see me at the Horse Creek Festival in Davenport, Florida, the friendly and enthusiastic welcome from the Citrus Center Kiwanis Club of Lakeland, Florida, and all the folks that stopped by the Matlacha Menagerie at my signing there. The reaction to the presentation giving background on my soon to be released book, “Blue Water, Red Blood” has been better than I could have ever hoped for. Here are some pics taken at the festival and the Kiwanis meeting.
I’ll be making that presentation at the Lee County, Pine Island Branch from 2 to 4 on Wednesday of this week. (November 14). I’ll be at the Whiskey Creek Country Club for a presentation this week as well as speaking and story-telling at Patrick Smith Days in St Cloud, Florida this coming weekend. Patrick Smith, author and historian, wrote “A land Remembered” as well as other works about Florida’s history. They’re all open to the public so come visit me. Visit my web site http://www.dlhavlin.com to get my future schedule or request I make an appearance at your club or event.
I’ll be taking a break Thanksgiving week – my children and the “grands” are coming to spend some time with us. I’m really looking forward to some family time.
